EPN: Growing up, what inspired you to pursue the amazing ventures that you have created?

Olga Horvat: I’ve always been a huge animal lover. I just knew that doing something with animals, especially dogs, is my calling. This realization was a true triumph and breakthrough, which all decorated my journey with valuable lessons - I decided to start an internet dog business “Royal Dogs Gallery” six years ago. I set up a business exclusively for dogs and their owners, and I started selling products, offering services and creating dog oil paintings on canvas. Later on, I wrote the book “Paranormal Pooch” and I got involved in other “dog” projects. The ball has started rolling…

EPN: When did you know you had a passion for dogs?

OH: Dogs have always been a passion of mine. I examined my thoughts, wishes, and things that I liked to do when I was a kid and I realized that I was the happiest when I was near by the animals, especially dogs. I liked to spend time in the Zoo or in the pet store.  I also liked to help injured or abandoned animals who were left on the street. Many times I found birds, puppies or kittens and I brought them home and took care of them. While I was a child, we always had many animals in our house, but dogs were my favorite. Dogs are truly remarkable human companions. They are smart, cute, funny, and compassionate creatures. They deserve to be “crowned” for all the love they are bringing into our lives.

EPN: What is your favorite breed of dog? Which breed is the easiest to work with?

OH: My favorite breed is the King Charles Cavalier. They are very friendly, affectionate, and good with both children and other animals. They are just adorable little creatures. They are extremely patient and eager to please their owners and that’s why they are very easy to work with.

EPN: You have such a passion for dogs, do you own a dog? If yes, tell us his/her story?

OH: My dog Cleopatra is a mixed breed between King Charles Cavalier and Cocker Spaniel. I named her after my cat Cleopatra who was my best friend while I was a kid. Although cats and dogs are two different species, my dog Cleopatra reminds me so much of my cat I owned in the past. Maybe she was reincarnated as my dog (ha-ha). She has long silky black hair with a little bit of white on her face, paws and neck, just like my cat. She is very curious and playful, but also enjoys cuddling up on a cushion or lap. I taught her many tricks and she loves to show off. She brings laughs, joy, and lots of love to our family.

EPN: You have been featured on several networks, do you think you are at the height of your career?

OH: No, this is just the beginning. I am still rediscovering who I am and what direction I will take next. This is a wonderful world we live in with plenty of opportunities. I feel like a kid, always willing to explore new things and jump into new projects. I see boundaries as opportunities and the world as a limitless place.

EPN: What advice do you have for anyone who would love to follow your footsteps?

OH: Just follow your heart and trust your instincts. The easiest way to check if you are making the right decision in your life is by doing this simple exercise – put your hand on your heart and ask yourself: “Do I feel that I am expanding or shrinking?” If you feel that the action you are considering to take will “expand” you, make you feel great, loved, appreciated, etc., then go ahead with it. Your heart never lies, just learn to listen to it. Helen Keller said something really powerful: “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen, or even touched. They must be felt with the heart.”

EPN: Who was/is your greatest inspiration?

OH: My mother was my greatest inspiration in my childhood. Later on, there were many people who influenced my life. Some of them are as follows: Anthony Robbins, Deepak Chopra, Oprah Winfrey, Helen Keller, Viktor E. Frankl, Suze Orman, and others.

EPN: Tell us about your book!  What inspired you to write this amazing story?

OH: “Paranormal Pooch” is a true story about our dog Princess. It’s about our family’s four-month sojourn into an incredible, unknown side of the canine world. I was fascinated by Princess who opened a door to another world and took us on a journey we’d never been on. We were put through tremendous spiritual growth lessons. Soon, after the book came out it was featured on CNN, Anderson Cooper360; New York Live TV Show, WNBC; and many other TV and radio shows throughout the US, Canada, Europe and Australia. I was very proud of it.

EPN: What other exciting projects should we expect next from Olga Horvat?

OH: I am so excited to be a part of a new book that is coming out soon “Real Women - Real Issues - Real Solutions.” It’s a collaborative effort of approximately fifteen women. The book is about some special ladies who overcame their big life problems and then shared their stories with the rest of the world. I am also working on getting my own TV Show “Pet Friendly Living with Olga Horvat.” The show will feature amazing stories about the human-animal bond.
